511now does not have user accounts. You do not sign in. We do not ask for your name or email.

Search, pins, and recents live in your browser only

When you search for a pass or pin a camera, that information is saved in your browser's local storage. It stays on this device. We do not send your search terms or pins to a server.

Recent searches and pinned cameras are stored using the browser localStorage API. If you clear your browser data, your pins and recents are deleted.

No cloud LLM

Search runs on your device. We use token overlap, aliases, and edit distance to match your query to camera names and places. Your search terms are not sent to a cloud AI or language model.

Camera stills are hotlinked from official hosts

When you view a camera still, your browser loads the image directly from the official source: WSDOT, ODOT TripCheck, Idaho 511, NPS, or OHAZ. Those agencies have their own web server logs and privacy policies.

511now does not re-host or cache camera images on our servers. We show you the same URL the agency publishes.

No advertising cookies or third-party ads

511now does not use advertising cookies. We do not show third-party ads. We do not sell your data to advertisers.

Fonts and map tiles from third parties

511now loads fonts from Google Fonts and map tiles from Leaflet and OpenStreetMap providers. Those services may log your IP address and browser information according to their own privacy policies.

No mailing list

We do not have a mailing list or newsletter. We do not collect email addresses.
