About 511now

What 511now is

511now shows official wildfire perimeters, weather alerts, traffic cameras, and wildfire camera stills for Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. We pull the same pictures the official agencies already publish.

Check the official 511 page or emergency alert first. That page has the rule. Then look at the cameras here.

A service of Henricks Media

511now is a service of Henricks Media. Sibling to Clear To Go: cameras and official conditions, not trail verdicts.

Not official state 511

511now is not official state 511. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by WSDOT, ODOT, Idaho 511, or any state transportation agency.

Washington deactivated the 511 phone number in 2023. Even so, 511now is not the state system and never was.

For official road conditions, closures, and chain requirements, use the official pages:

Not emergency alerts

511now does not issue evacuation orders. It does not send alerts. It does not make siren sounds.

For emergency orders, use:

  • Wireless Emergency Alerts on your phone
  • Your county emergency management agency
  • Genasys Protect or ORAlert
  • Local sheriff or OEM social media

Stale data is worse than no data. If a picture looks hours old, skip it and check the official page.

Cameras and public data, not verdicts

511now shows you the pictures. It does not guess chain levels, closures, or temperatures from a photo. A wet-looking valley picture does not cancel a chains-required rule at the summit.

We do not label stills LIVE unless the camera has a real video stream. Most pass cameras are still photos that refresh every few minutes.

Official sources

Stills are hotlinked from published public URLs. We do not re-host agency images. We do not invent cameras or use undocumented Axis device names.
